Strawberry Festival 2013

Pam's sister Nancy and her baby Dakota joined us for the Vashon Strawberry Festival Saturday. It was the familiar, fun small town festival that it always is. The highlights are the parade which included everything from a UFO story float to the Thriftway Shopping Cart Drill team and the parade of tractors.

 

 

The weather started a little overcast and then the sun came out just after the parade. Dakota took time between eating and naps to swing and play in the grass. He put me through my paces with a rhythm game we played on a table at Rock Island Pizza. He'd beat something and I would replicate it. Then he'd play something different and I'd keep copying him. After a long while he grabbed his bottle and used that for the beat. I translated that as "C'mon man! Let a kid win."
